Tradition

Each year at Christmas time we have a tradition for our grand daughter. Kori was born with a chromosome defect and passed away three days after she was born. She will always be known as our first grand daughter.

In Kori's memory, we decided to select a toy that would be appropriate for what her age would be that current year. So three days ago, Sharon and I went out to a Target store and found a toy that Kori would probably like to play with. Then we donate that toy to the Fire Department so that some young girl, around Kori's age, would be blessed with a toy to play with on Christmas day.

We started this tradition last year but this year we thought we would take a picture of this toy just to remember what we got and what we did. Kori will always be in our thoughts and in our hearts.

I just love this tradition. I think we might do the same thing starting next year. I like the thought of some other sweet girl getting a special toy to play with in Kori's name. I think she is happy about it too! Thanks for thinking of her.

You are so welcome. Sharon and I wanted to think of a way to include Kori in our lives and we thought this idea at Christmas time would work.

Certainly this tradition is not for us only. Anyone can participate and alter it if they wish. We hope you and anyone else will join with us. Jordan and Caden will really appreciate what their family is doing for their sister.

I think Kori would like this idea because she would know we are not only thinking of her but we are blessing another child's life too, in her memory. I think that's part of what life is about. Thinking about, caring for, and helping others on both sides of the veil.

These become good memories, fond memories now and later in our years.
